The Best Quotes on Change

The true fact of the matter is a lot of times pleasure is attained through going through pain. Change can add so much color to our to a picture that we already thought was vibrant enough. Yes it can come in the form of pain, but it can be the pain we need to make something better out of our lives and/or for the people we love. This fact will become evident through a lot of the quotes about change below.

Top 10 Take Away’s From The List of Change Quotes!
When it came down to it, this was a hard list to mine the best gold from, but below I have taken what I thought were the 10 most powerful change quotes that we can learn lessons from! Here they are, I hope they help you!
1.) “All great changes are proceeded by chaos.” – Deepak Chopra
This is such an awesome perspective given by one of the great selp help authors and speakers of all time. It also resonated with my life. Massive change can come out of the most turbulent and dark times. It allows us to transform, if we choose to from it.
The dark times make almost everything else seem not that bad. As well as make the great times that much more beautiful. They also thicken our skin, making us persevere through life much better than we would if we never went through our rough patches.
2.) “Yesterday I was clever, so I wanted to change the world. Today I am wise so I am changing myself.” – Rumi
This quote by Rumi puts it into such simple perspective. We all want to change the world, but the most important thing is to change oneself for the better. Once this change takes place, then by default the world around us changes. It is the long road to the goal you originally wanted but you grow on that long road in a big way.
3.) “You are never too old to set another goal or to dream a new dream.” – C.S. Lewis
This is just a great takeaway because it helps us get past the limiting belief that it is too late to go after our goals. Just think about the fact that Colonel Sanders was in his 60’s when he started KFC! He was worth more than some small countries when he passed leaving a massive legacy to his family.
It is never too late my friends. Also, it is never to early to start as well!
I feel like this quote can be flipped over in a sense that you are never to young to go after any goal as well. Often times younger people can feel inferior because of their age. But it is just a mindset. No matter how young you feel, go after those goals so you won’t look back and regret not going for it.
4.) “Just when I think I have learned the way to live, life changes.” – Hugh Prather
I put this one in because I think everyone on planet earth can resonate with it. It always feels like when we hit a stride we get knocked off track. In a small or very large scale. It is allowing us to humble ourselves and egos as well as adapt to this new change.
Everything happens for a reason when you feel like you have it all together and find out you don’t it is a great time to reflect and see how you can do it better and more efficient!
5.) “Lay the foundation with bricks others throw at you.” – David Brinkley
This is straight up and epic mindset quote. How often have we let people tear us down. We can go through our entire lives holding onto things. Someones opinion becomes our reality and we can be affected by it for a long time. But what if instead we use some reverse psychology and start using these cheap shots to help us attain our hearts desires.
Maybe someone told you that you were good for nothing. Or that you were dumb as rocks. Well use that for fuel to your fire and let it motivate and push you to prove them wrong, or better yet prove yourself right. Also realize that this person is just an idiot at the end of the day. Someone who was probably having a bad day, or even worse was projecting their low self-esteem and self worth on you. It was never about you. See it as that way then use these negatives to build a positive future.
6.) “Change is hard at first, messy in the middle and gorgeous in the end.” – Robin Sharma
This is so beautifully put and had to be part of our list. It is so true of change. It is literally like going through stages of grief. You will have an ebenflow that takes you through the hard and messy times before you are able to see this gorgeous end.
Fighting through the tough times will only make us stronger. Also you have two choices, you can either go through it or grow through it as pastor Joel Olsteen says. Try to be present enough throughout your pain. So you can learn from it and it won’t be a waste of time. If you allow it to teach you it’s lesson, it will most likely never resurface again. But if you keep denying it until its over, it will likely come back. Simply because you half assed your way through it making you vulnerable to suffer from the same low again.
7.) “I’m going to make the rest of my life the best of my life.”
We can’t change the past unless your Marty McFly. It just in’t gonna happen. But you can move forward and do so entirely differently then you have in the past. A great philosophy I try to live by is to only look back to learn. Don’t look back with regret, look back to learn from mistakes and smile that some of the moments you wish you still had happened to you at all. Then go make some new memories!
No matter how bad your life has been, today you can make a choice to make the rest of your life the best life. It’s actually a pretty exciting concept!
8.) “The curious paradox is that when I accept myself just as I am, then I change.” – Carl R Rogers
I almost overlooked this one until I realized that its a powerhouse of a quote. Acceptance is seen as passive, but it is actually living life on your own terms. It happens to be one of the most spiritually powerful things that you can do. Acceptance is allowing it to be how it is. Not trying to change it. What you resists, persists. But when we accept the way we are, whether that be personal image bad habits your trying to convert to good habits and anything in between. We essentially forgive ourselves and it puts us at a much more positive position to make change.
You are now changing coming from a positive point of view, instead of changing because you hate body or that you have a drug problem. It will also allow you sustain this change for the long term versus changing because of a negative reason. You WHY for the reason you want to change is essentially a lot more powerful
.”9.) When your finished changing, your finished.” – Benjamin Franklin
This fact is so true. When we stop growing, we die. Just like any other life form. Sure our physical body make still look like it’s alive, but its really just surviving and going through the motions. Not thriving like it was created to do.
I came across a great study on this subject talking about the impact learning has on your brain. It talks about theta rhythms and their functioning in the hippocampus. These are brain synapses are interrelated with learning and memory. If one continues to stimulate this area of the brain with continued learning, they are bettering the chance of limiting cognitive decline along with memory impairment.
So literally if you stop learning, your brain stops growing. So Keep Calm and Learn On my friends!
10.) If life were predictable it would cease to be life, and be without flavor.” Eleanor Roosevelt
Our last take away brings us to the wonderful Eleanor Roosevelt. We are all looking to find a steady pace in life where there isn’t too much change. We get into a career and relationship and we get a little lazy and content and like it that way. When things are predicable they are boring.
So change is literally the spice to a bland recipe. You can use it to make your life more colorful or avoid using it and leave it on the spice rack of life. Embrace change and see how much more colorful and growth provoking your life will be!
